V. F. W. Post Presents ‘Outstanding Citizen Award for 1940 to Morton Glass

This picture was taken in the V. F. W. clubrooms last night after the local post presented a medal to Morton Glass who was designated by the post as Arkansas City’s “outstanding citizen” for 1940. Left to right in the picture are C. E. St. John, Arkansas City schools superintendent, a speaker at last night’s program; George Brill, third district commander of the V. F. W.; Morton Glass; Mrs. Sadie Billings, president of the V. F. W. state auxiliary; James E. Fisher, Kansas department commander of the V. F. W. from Wichita who presented the medal to Glass; Stanley F. Spencer, commander of the local V. F. W. post, and Oscar Renn, prominent in veterans’ activities in Kansas and a speaker last night,
